JANUARY EVENTS

Liverpool Genealogy Society     CLOSED

LGS will reopen on Tuesday 7 January 2020 at 10 am

  • The society workrooms are closed over the Christmas break from Saturday 14 December 2020 until Tuesday 7 January 2020.

  • The Society's workrooms will reopen for the 2020 year on the 7 January 2020 at 10 am. 

  • The Centre remains open for visitors during January except for the public holidays.

  • Volunteers will be on their Christmas break during this time and will resume as voluntary assistants when the LGS workroom reopens on 7 January 2020.

AUSTRALIA DAY 2020

Sunday 26 January 2020

Liverpool Regional Family History Centre, Liverpool Genealogy Society and Liverpool Regional Museum will be closed on Australia Day Sunday 26 January 2020 and will reopen for business on Tuesday 28 January 2020 at 10 am. 
We are open Tuesdays to Saturdays 10 am - 4 pm and closed on public holidays.

Liverpool City Council's free, all-ages Australia Day celebration returns to Woodward Park in Liverpool
on Sunday 26 January 2020,  5 pm - 10 pm.

Free talk: When negatives become positives

As part of Beyond The Tree Exhibition, Karen will take the audience through her recent trip to Germany, the Czech Republic, and Slovakia, where she traveled to in search of answers and missing pieces to this story, as part of her family history research.

Then and There Lying Dead - murders, inquests, accidents, and gossip in Sydney’s Greater West is Judith Dunn’s latest book, a collection of bizarre happenings and incidents that amuse enlighten and divert.

 Join Judith as she talks about her book and learn about the events that show the tumultuous nature of the early colonial period of Australia's history.

 Judith is a writer and renowned Parramatta cemetery tour guide who has written eight books on Australian history and in 2011 received an OAM for her services to history and heritage.


Light luncheon will be provided after the talk.
